Grin Department an alternative punk rock band in the
Philippines founded on1995 . Its musical direction has evolved through simple rock,hard rock , pop, metal, Alternative Punk Rock progressive, and others.The band has several well-known singles, which includes "Miss U" [Miss Miss Sa Loob Ng Jeepney] , "Iskin", "Buy One Take Two", "Iniwan" [Leave Behind] ", "Inday 2000", "Otso Pa" [8] ", "Count To Ten" ", "Tambayan", "Toothpaste", "Syota Ng Bayan", "Fininger".
History (1995 - present)
The band started in late 1995 in Sta. Mesa (Teresa), Philippines. Founded by a record producer from L.A. 105 FM, the group was invited to submit a demo for an Alternative Rock Band project. After hearing the demo the group was issued a solo album.
In the first quarter of
1996 , the band had released its first album, "HAHEHIHOHU", and its first single, "Miss U"; followed by "Buy One Take Two". It also made Philippine music history by becoming the first band to release a 2 debut album. After a few months the album reached Gold Platinum and reached a Double Platinum Album.Pioneer's in the new and developing underground music scene of Manila, they constantly faced bans for musical content. Often the band's name was called GREEN Department, referring to the adult nature of their songs.
