Mid-volume transaction output

Mid-volume transaction output

Mid-Volume Transaction Output is a space in the production printing environment in which transactional documents are produced. Mid-volume typically describes print volumes of between 100,000 and one million pages per month. Every printing and post-insertion environment experiences waste during the production process. On high volume devices, this waste is approximately one-half of one percent of all documents. For a high volume environment, that could equate to a half-million documents or more per month. Reprinting these documents on high end systems can be inefficient and costly. In addition, performing proof work or running low volume jobs can be equally costly. To address this gap, companies seek out lower-cost and smaller-footprint devices that will quickly and efficiently turn around reprint work, while offering comparable speed, quality and uptime as their high end system. This area of the transactional printing market is considered mid-volume. Other evaluation considerations for MVTO equipment purchases include simple and intuitive user operability, a high degree of reliability, low operating costs, low power consumption, and environmental friendliness.
