Glasgow, Scotland .Biography
Twin Atlantic formed in March of 2007. All members were previously in other bands: Sam in Arca Felix (who still remain a respectable force on the local scene), Ross in LongStoryShort, Barry in Think:Fire and Craig in In Ernest.
During 2007 they built up a strong reputation both locally and nationally with tour support slots with
Circa Survive andmewithoutyou . This culminated in the release of a download single on 24 December 2007, and a four track EP on 14 January 2008.Building on support from
Kerrang , the band's profile was boosted enough for them to land support slots withBiffy Clyro and they were personally chosen by Jimmy Chamberlin to supportSmashing Pumpkins at Glasgow's SECC in early February. Over the following months, Twin Atlantic also supported American actsThe Matches ,Finch andSay Anything on their respective UK tours as well asYou Me At Six ,Funeral For A Friend ,Thrice andLostprophets . Twin Atlantic also played numerous festivals in 2008, includingT in the Park , BelladrumTartan Heart Festival ,Rock Ness , Live At Loch Lomond andConnect Music Festival .The band recently signed a single deal with King Tuts Recordings, and 'What Is Light? Where Is Laughter?' was released on 29th September 2008. They have also recently completed a joint headline tour of Scotland with
The Xcerts and will embark on their first set of headline dates across the UK on 14th Sept.The Glasgow four piece have also just been invited to be main support on The Subways UK tour throughout October.
At their recent gig at King Tuts Wah Wah Hut (28/09/2008) Sam McTrusty said they would be recording an album in January 2009.
