Dharwas is located in the Pangi Valley, on the Dalhousie-Kishtwar trek route. Pangi Valley is the remotest valley of Chamba district, and according to Dr. Hutchison, “unique in its grandeur and beauty.” Dharwas is the largest and the most populated hamlet in the Pangi Valley. The village is located at an elevation of 8000 feet above sea level. Trekking base camps are available here.
The place is famous for the natural water spring of mineral water, Tilmili. The trek trail leading to Sural Valley of Pangi and then up to Sanskar starts from Dharwas.

How to reach
The nearest railhead is at Pathankot in the state of Punjab, and the nearest airport is the Gaggal airport. From Kilar, one needs to turn north-west, and cross the Sural Nala (also calleds Lujal Nala), and a level walk trek of 8 km leads you to Dharwas. There are buses and taxis available from Killar.
The road connectivity in Pangi Valley is the 170 km road link from Chamba to Killar via Saach-pass. This is known as Alwas-Killar road and it is part of Ahju khara Mukh - Chamba - Tissa- Alwas- Killar road. From Chamba via Tissa Bairagarh and Satrundi, the road is motorable up to Killar,but the road is suitable for jeep ride.

Killar: Killar is the headquarters of Pangi valley. It’s located in the deep and narrow gorge of Chenab River. Mahlu Nallah is said to be the gateway to this village. The place is blessed with incredible natural beauty. Killar is also the base for trekking expedition to Kishtwar, through Umasi la into the Zanskar Valley, and to Keylong and Manali. Dharwas is located 9 km from Killar, and 137 km north east of Chamba andother villages in killar are thamoh, karhoti, parmas, kuffa, chowki, mahaliyat, karel, kawas, bhatwas, karyas, punto, changili.
Killar is famous for its charming dances and rich natural beauty. It is also a suitable base for trekkers venturing to Kishtwar, through Umasi la into the Zanskar Valley, and to Keylong and Manali. One the way to Lahaul, one will come across the beautiful spot of ' Purthi', renowned for a historical guest house on the banks of Chenab and a fine nursery.
Luj: Luj is located at an elevation of 7000 feet above sea level. Luj primarily consists of four villages, Udaini, Bishthow, Balwas, and Mangalwas. Udaini houses the Sheetla Devi temple.
