vocational school offering only one program, the Electrical Lineworker Program or ELP. The ELP is a 15 week training program for individuals desiring to become electrical lineworkers. SLTC is located inTrenton, Georgia approximately 20 miles south ofChattanooga, Tennessee .SLTC currently administers training to nearly 350 students per year in its Electrical Linewokrer Program and is one of the largest lineworker training schools in the United States.
History
1999 - Southeast Lineman Training Center (founded in Trenton, Georgia on 19 acres.
2000 - February 1, 2000 first class was delivery to 13 students.
2002 - Electrical Lineworker Program training building was constructed.
2003 - Expansion of training yard to include transmission training.
2004 - Construction of 12,000 square foot administration building and classrooms.
2007 - Additional land purchased to increase training yard to 25 acres. CDL training grounds were added and two fifth wheel tractors purchased for CDL training.
2008 - Expansion of training yard to include substation training.
