"The Original Recordings (Singles and Unreleased 1995-1997)" is a compilation album put together by former members of The Detroit Cobras, and their fifth release. Rachel Nagy and Mary Restrepo, founding members still associated with the act, have nothing to do with this release and would like to make it known that this is NOT a new Detroit Cobras CD. The tracks are when the band was just starting out - making tapes in someone's garage.

This album was going to be pressed by Sympathy for the Record Industry as Lost and Found, but complications arose with the label, probably due to the fact that Long Gone John has been trying to sell it.
