Filipinos who studied in Cambridge University

Cambridge University as of 2008 is ranked number one in Europe and is amongst the worlds best university. Notable alumni who graduated from this prestigious university includes, Einstein, Newton, Shakespeare, Bacon and members of the Royal Family like Prince Charles. Cambridge University is one of the elitist university because of its stringent admission for students and is noted to be one of the most expensive in the whole world for foreign/international students.

Before the only Filipinos who could afford to study in Cambridge University were the sons/daughters of rich political scions of Manila and the very select few who got scholarships from educational trust and charities e.g. British-chevening, Cambridge-Gates Scholarship. Amongst the well known alumni of Cambridge were, Ferdinand "Bong-bong" Marcos Jr, son of the former Philippine dictator Ferdinand Marcos. Chito Gascon, former student leader and Secretary of Education, Culture and Sports. Jose Wendel Capili poet and literary professor, University of the Philippines.

Mahar Lagmay, Edsel Beja, Maria Mangahas, Victor Paz, Dr. Elmer Santos and Percy Santos were among the pioneers of Pinoy UK who is one of the most active Filipino organization in England were also alumni of Cambridge University.
