Robert Sherwood was born in 1984. He grew up in bristol before moving to london to study fine art at Chelsea College of Art between 2005 and 2008.Having graduated he now paints in a studio in Southwark with the Sculptor James Capper. He lives in Notting Hill with life long friend Ross Chalmers who works for the Hannah Barry Gallery.
In 2008, Donald Smith of the Chelsea Space and Chelsea Arts Club nominated him for the Sovereign European Painting Prize. He is also a finalist in the Saatchi Gallery and Channel 4's '4 New Sensations' for which he has been commissioned to make a major new work to be exhibited in the The Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane. The new work is the largest made by the artist to date at 200x450cm. Along with the Commission, a 3 minute wonder film has been produced under the direction of Zara Hayes. The musical score has been made by the artist and musician, Tom Barnett,.
