Wilson Savoy

Wilson Savoy (born February 1, 1982 in Eunice, Louisiana is a Cajun accordion and singer in the band Pine Leaf Boys as well as a local filmmaker in Lafayette, LA. His father is Marc Savoy, famous accordion builder and musician, and his mother is Ann Savoy, author and music producer [Himes, Geoffrey (2007). "Cajun Sound, Rock 'n' Roll Energy" [http://www.nytimes.com/2007/03/04/arts/music/04hime.html New York Times] ] , are strong ambassadors in preserving the Cajun culture. Wilson's band, the Pine Leaf Boys, was nominated for a Grammy award in 2008 alongside Geno Delafose, Roddie Romero, the Lost Bayou Ramblers and the Racines.

History

Wilson Savoy was born in Eunice and began his musical career in the year 2000 with his family band, Marc Savoy, Ann Savoy, and Joel Savoy, his brother. In 2004 he joined the Red Stick Ramblers and formed his own band, the Pine Leaf Boys, in 2005.
