County Day School (CDS) is a school in Escazú, Costa Rica.

Foundation

The school was founded in 1963 by Marian Baker to give a correct U.S. American style education in Costa Rica. It started off as a small school and grew to about 150 students by 1968. It has since grown into a large school enrolling more than 1000 students. CDS is a member of the Association of American Schools in Central America (AASCA).[1]

Escazú Campus

Country Day Escazú is a private school catering for kingergarten students to grade 12, English-speaking school located in Escazú, a westerly suburb of San José, Costa Rica. Country Day Escazú is recognized for having one of the highest college acceptance rates from graduates in the country.

Guanacaste Campus

Country Day Guanacaste was opened in 2004 following the success of the Escazu campus, it is now a leading international boarding school in Central America, the co-ed years 8-12 Boarding School is the only kind of its class in Costa Rica and is popular among international students because of its pacific coastal, rural location. The School has a covered gym, pool, athletic field, staff housing, 20-room boarding residence hall and classrooms for regular and specialty classes, the school also runs a day school for students who are not boarders.
