Khachapuri (Georgian( ხაჭაპური "xač’ap’uri" or "cheese bread")(Turkish(Peynirli pide)) is a filled bread dish from Georgia. The bread is leavened and allowed to rise, and is shaped in various ways. The filling contains
cheese (fresh or aged), eggs and other ingredients. Several Georgian regions have their own distinct "khachapuri". The most common khachapuri is probably theImeretian Khachapuri from the western province ofImereti . Other, popular versions of khachapuri include the Ajarian (sometimes known as Acharuli/Adjaruli),Mingrelian , andAbkhazian (commonly known asAchma ) khachapuri.By the origin, there are several types of khachapuri in Georgian food:
