Career
Cranmer began his career with Dumbarton. He had a spell with junior Renfrew before signing for Albion Rovers in 1991. He then spent several years in the Junior leagues, until the summer of 1998, when he was part of the Junior revolution which swept through Clyde, being one of eleven players coming from the junior ranks to join the Bully Wee. He was a key figure in the team which won the Scottish Second Division championship in 2000, and scored two goals on the final day of the season to win the title.
"Boomer" was a popular player at Broadwood Stadium, but he left the club in 2001 due to work commitments, after making 112 appearances in all competitions. He returned to former club Pollok.
