"Aggressive Inline" is an inline skating video game released in 2002. The game features professional inline skaters, including Chris Edwards, Eito Yasutoko, Franky Morales, Jaren Grob and Taïg Khris. The game was notable due to it being an extreme sports game based upon inline skating, a sport not prevalent in video games.

Gameplay

The gameplay focuses on completing goals given by talking to characters within each level. While some goals involve gaining a certain amount of points in a specific time, many of the goals involve doing tricks on and off of pieces of the environment (for example: one level asks the player to grind three traffic lights, each one placed at a larger distance and facing a different direction). Another innovative feature focused on a player leveling system where the player would perform better in different areas of skating skill by practicing them repeatedly. For instance, if the player does many air tricks throughout the course of the game, each successful trick would create points in the player's air trick statistics. When the points reach a certain amount, the player's air tricks will move up a level, making it easier to perform air tricks faster and more efficiently. The same actions apply to grinding, speed, wall riding, skating backward, etc.

Critical Response

The game received praise for its wide and interactive environments, comfortable control scheme, and innovative gameplay. At the time, it was considered to be a breakthrough competitor to the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series. The game generally received good reviews for its style of play, with the average review ratio for the Playstation 2, Xbox and Gamecube, being 85% [http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/539628.asp?q=aggressive%20inline] , with the Game Boy Advance version receiving worse scores than the versions on consoles.

oundtrack

A standout feature of the game is its large and varied soundtrack, which is made up of alternative music, Pop-Punk/Punk, Ska, and hip hop. The tracks are as follows:

*"Falling for You" - Student Rick (from the album "Soundtrack for a Generation")*
*"Crawling in the Dark" - Hoobastank (from the album "Hoobastank")
*"Song #13" - The Ataris (from the album "End Is Forever")
*"Don't Sweat the Technique" - Eric B. & Rakim (from the album "Don't Sweat the Technique")
*"Wrong Way" - Sublime (from the album "Sublime")
*"An Idea for a Movie" - The Vandals (from the album "Hitler Bad, Vandals Good")
*"Your Disease" - Saliva (from the album "Every Six Seconds")
*"Passin' Me By" - The Pharcyde (from the album "Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde")
*"Sell Out" - Reel Big Fish (from the album "Turn the Radio Off)
*"Monday Morning" - Student Rick (from the album "Soundtrack for a Generation")
*"Youth of the Nation" - P.O.D. (from the album "Satellite")
*"I'm a Cloud" - Boy Hits Car (from the album "Boy Hits Car")
*"The Choice Is Yours" - Black Sheep (from the album "A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing")

*"Falling for You" was incorrectly listed as being by Taking Back Sunday in the PS2 version, but was later fixed in the Xbox and Gamecube versions.
