All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship The All-Ireland series of games were severely hampered due a delay in playing the provincial championships in Munster and Leinster. Because of this Kilkenny, the reigning All-Ireland champions, were nominated by the Leinster Council to represent the province in the All-Ireland quarter-final. Kilkenny, however, were later defeated by Dublin in the Leinster semi-final. Dublin, in turn, were later defeated by Wexford in the Leinster final. A similar delay occurred in Munster. Cork were nominated by the Munster Council to represent the province in the All-Ireland semi-final. They were subsequently defeated by Limerick in the Munster final.

Overview
Sunday
20 November was the date of the 1910 All-Ireland senior hurling final between Wexford and Limerick. It was their first ever meeting in the history of the championship. Wexford were appearing in the All-Ireland final for the first time since1901 . That year they lost the ‘home’ championship decider to Cork. Limerick were appearing in their second All-Ireland final ever. They last lined out on hurling’s biggest day in1897 when they defeated Kilkenny to take the title. It would be 45 years before both Limerick and Wexford would meet in the championship again.Match report
The All-Ireland final of 1910 saw the
Gaelic Athletic Association ’s new rules being implemented in the championship decider for the first time. New goalposts consisting of two uprights, 21 feet apart and 16 feet high with a crossbar 8 feet from the ground, formed the new goal-scoring area. Similarly, a parallelogram 45 feet by 15 feet was located in front of goal. Goals scored were only allowed provided attacking players were not therein before the arrival if the sliothar. This rule in particular caused some confusion during the Wexford-Limerick match. When the Wexford men arrived onto the field they were greeted by one of the biggest cheers of the day. They were the underdogs going into the game as Limerick had a reputation of hurling excellence in their own province. Reputations counted for little when M.F. Crowe, surprisingly a Limerick native, threw in the sliothar and the game began. Wexford were regarded as the better team in the opening half-hour of hurling. Their captain,
Dick Doyle , was doing sterling work in helping to secure vital goals. Limerick, unsure about the new parallelogram rules had a goal disallowed at the end of the first-half. After the interval Wexford struggled for the first fifteen minutes before Limerick took charge for the next ten minutes. The Munster men rushed in a goal and were only one point in arrears coming into the closing stages of the game. It seemed as if the Wexford men were done for, however, the last seven minutes saw them give a master class of defensive play. Limerick, however, went on the attack again but their shot went wide. The puck-out went Wexford’s way; however, the Limerick men secured possession once again. It was too late for Limerick as the long whistle sounded and Wexford were the champions with a score of 7-0 to 6-2.tatistics
