Soldiers of Allah

Soldiers of Allah

Soldiers of Allah was a Muslim rap group from Los Angeles, California. USA

Background

The last Soldiers of Allah album "1924" was their most successful album. Fact|date=January 2008 The name of the album refers to the year 1924 when "Islamic state was destroyed" (see Abolishment). The album was recorded before 9/11, but it is supposed that after 9/11 the group became controversial as Islam came further into public awareness in America, see Criticisms. Fact|date=January 2008

"Soldiers of Allah"'s views in their raps include unifying the ummah and setting one strong khilafah (Islamic state). In their songs they often refer to glorious men of Islamic history, like Abdülhamid II, Saladin, Khalid bin Walid and Harun al-Rashid. They stand against corrupted Islamic regimes, Muslims weak in their beliefs and kuffar. They claim that Islam is complete, unlike Christianity and Judaism ("we have system, they have only religion").

SOA have been quite popular in the Muslim community in the West, Fact|date=January 2008 and then gained massive popularity in other parts of the world such as the Middle East, Indonesia and Malaysia. Fact|date=January 2008 They have gained an extremely wide international audience, Fact|date=January 2008 past just the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and are believed by many to be the most well-known modern-music Islamic group around, a claim which certainly carries weight. Fact|date=January 2008

Due to family reasons, the "Soldiers of Allah" website has been shut down and the group disbanded, as the members all became married and decided to focus on families. Fact|date=January 2008 It had been announced during mid/late 2005 on the Trust Islam messageboard at http://trustislam.com/studiobb (now off-line) , which started out as the homepage of the Soldiers Of Allah group, http://www.muslimstudio.com , that the SOA is working on releasing a new album called SOA 3: The Return of Islam, but after that no news has been released and it is unknown at what stage the album is. Update

As of January 2007, there is no news of Soldier's Of Allah's new album. According to the MuslimHipHop article, "I know you are all wondering when Soldiers of Allah will come back, well it’s probably not going to happen: “It has been brought up a few times but no action has ever really been taken to think that it would. Brothers have moved into different cities, got married, etc. When you’re young and single, you have much more time." See below about Hizb ut-Tahrir and Baba Ali the apparent people behind the Brand of SOA. SOA was supposedly a HT America Youth found band and promoted under Hizb ut-Tahrir

Criticism

The Minaret of Freedom Institute has claimed that Soldiers of Allah was a front organization for the ideologist Islamist group Hizb ut-Tahrir but SOA has claimed they are not affiliated with any group or organization many times.

Soldiers of Allah have also been linked with Baba Ali and the Ummah Films Team (www.ummahfilms.com) even though they continue to deny it, Al-Tassauf reported many underground and hyped links including videos and sound feeds on Youtube and that showed voice comparison to Baba Ali and SOA songs. Baba Ali still denies affiliation with the group, many argue about the dangers of living in the west post 9/11 and threats members have received

NEW 15th September 2008

According to James Town (http://www.jamestown.org/terrorism/news/article.php?articleid=2373622)

Hizb ut-Tahrir have a movement in America called HTA Hizb ut-Tahrir America, HT America was behind the brand and secret movements to form Soldiers of Allah. The members of Soldiers of Allah and thus part of the Global Islamic Political Party Hizb ut-Tahrir which aims to establish Caliphate in the modern muslim World. Baba Ali of Ummah Films still denies although forums like Ummah.com have had people opening into discussion about the voice comparison is identical.
