Marshall Field V is the fifth generation of a Chicago family whose activities have included merchandising, real estate, publishing, communications and civic affairs. He is currently Chairman of the Board of The Field Corporation, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cabot, Cabot & Forbes and Chairman of The Old Mountain Company, Inc. He is a graduate of Harvard College and has served as publisher of the Chicago Sun Times and the Chicago Daily News. Field has been a member of the Board of Trustees for the Art Institute since 1965 and a member of the Board of Trustees of Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago since 1970. In 1981, Mr. and Mrs. Field established the Jamee and Marshall Field Foundation, which focuses on environmental and conservation issues, the arts and culture, education and health care. He was elected to the Executive Committee of The Chicago Community Trust in January 1999. Field is also a member of the Board of Directors of The Field Foundation of Illinois, which focuses on urban and community affairs and community welfare. An avid fisherman, Field has a strong interest in conservation and serves as Chairman of the National Council of the World Wildlife Fund, a member of The Nature Conservancy, The Atlantic Salmon Federation and Chairman of the Board of Visitors of the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University
