Tui Latui, (born 1937 in Ruatahuna, New Zealand [http://muse.aucklandmuseum.com/databases/general/RecordDetail.aspx?dataset=Muscat&SearchID=1085043&Ordinal=141&OriginalID=73383] , died 1985), better known by his stage name Prince Tui Teka was a Maori singer/actor. Career

Teka was born in Ruatahuna, New Zealand near Te Urewera. His parents were both musicians, and he learnt to play the guitar and saxophone at a young age [http://www.amplifier.co.nz/artist/30269/] . He moved to Sydney and joined the Maori Volcanics Showband, touring the Pacific for six years with them before joining The Maori Troubadours. In 1972 he began his solo career, releasing two albums; Real Love and Oh Mum [http://www.muzic.net.nz/artists/1022.html] , as well as the Maori love song E Ipo [cite web|url=http://www.muzic.net.nz/artists/1022.html|title=Prince Tui Teka|pages=1|language=English|accessdate=2008-11-27] . Before his death in 1985, he was in the New Zealand TV series Jack Holborn and stared in New Zealand films "Came a Hot Friday" and "Nate and Hayes". [Imdb name|0854243]
