John Perkins Ralls

John Perkins Ralls, Sr. (January 1, 1812 – November 22, 1904) was a physician and representative from the state of Alabama to the Congress of the Confederate States during the American Civil War.

Ralls was born in Greensboro, Georgia, on New Years Day, 1812. He attended medical school and established a practice in Gadsden, Alabama. He was married twice, the second time to Agnes Mary Hamilton. He was a delegate to the Alabama secession convention in early 1861. He represented the state in the First Confederate Congress from 1862-64. Following the war, he was a delegate to the Alabama state constitutional convention in 1875. He was elected to the Alabama State Legislature in 1878.
