Alouette River

The Alouette River is a river in the Canadian province of British Columbia.

The Alouette River was known as the Lillooet River until 1914, at which time its name was changed to avoid confusion with the much larger Lillooet River. The name Alouette, French for "lark", was obstentially chosen because it sounds similar to Lillooet. [BCGNIS|1074|Alouette River]

Course

The Allouette River originates north of Allouette Lake, into which it flows. From the south end of the lake the river flows generally west to join the Pitt River just below Pitt Lake. The Pitt Lake flows south to join the Fraser River east of Vancouver.
