"Star" is the first single off Extreme's fifth studio album "Saudades de Rock". It is the band's first single in 13 years and the first one to be released after the reunion of the band in 2007. The song was first released for a free listen on the band's Myspace page and then on a single promo CD.

The song features a return to the band's classic hard rock style that they played during their first three albums, before the failing departure to a more grunge driven music, which led to their breakup. The song has, once again, a very upbeat funk metal riff from guitarist Nuno Bettencourt and Queen-like harmony vocals done by Bettencourt and Cherone, in the chorus.

The single also features two versions of the song "Ghost" (also from the new album) as a B-side.
