Vettaikaran is a forthcoming film starring Joseph Vijay. The film is directed by Babu Shivan, an assistant director of Dharani.

Casting

The heroine of the movie has been under debate with Nayantara, Asin Thottumkal and Illeana D'Cruz. However, since Vijay and Nayantara will be doing a film called Villu before Vettaikaran, the producer has decided to drop her from the options as he did not want to repeat the same pair in two consecutive films. Asin said that she will not do the film but later decided to give the idea more thought. According to reliable sources, Ileana has not yet given nod to act in the film. The crew is hoping to bring a famous Mumbai Model to do the lead role. However the rest of the cast will be finalised later.
