The Ultimate LEGO book is a history of the very popular LEGO brick. Published by DK, the book takes on the usual format, with many pictures of LEGO models and other things related to LEGO. It is also a good source for behind the scenes info about how some of the large lego models are built for the Legoland Parks. According to the book, the LEGO company was named in 1934, when Ole Kirk held a competition to name his new company. He won the prize, a bottle of wine, himself after coming up with LEGO, a contraction of the Danish words for "Play Well," "LEg GOdt."
