Fort William McKinley was a US military facility in the Philippines named for the US president assassinated in 1901. The facility was established during the Philippine-American War when the whole land south of Pasig River down to Alabang was declared a U.S. Military Reservation. The bulk of the USAFFE Philippine Division was stationed at Fort KcKinley. The fort conducted specialized artillery training under the National Defense Act of 1935.Fact|date=December 2007 After American recognition of independence, the facility became the home of the Philippine Army and later the Philippine Navy and became Fort Bonifacio.
