- Munir Ibrahim
Munir Ibrahim, C.E.O. and President, of I on Investments, Inc., and dedicated community leader, has been a Houstonian since 1981. Born in Kampala, Uganda, to parents of Indian descent, his family took refuge in a camp in Italy in 1972, from the Edi Amin dictatorship coup d'état. Shortly thereafter, the 2nd Baptist Church in Canton, Ohio, sponsored the Ibrahim family to become American citizens. His family's estate was left in shambles after the coup, leaving his mother to become a seamstress at the Jones New York Company, his father an employee of the Ford Company. He himself obtained a job on a newspaper route at the age of twelve.
Like many emigrants to our great city, the Ibrahim family found better opportunity and quality of life while visiting family members in Houston, and relocated during Munir's mid-teen years. He would assist in managing family businesses, as well as his own jobs, while attending high school and then college at the University of Houston. These years of struggle cultivated the multi-faceted character which enables him to wear many hats today; as well as develop an innate entrepreneurial spirit - for shortly thereafter, he ventured out on his own to establish I on Investments, Inc., a real estate investment and holding company. Today he also is a principal in Genesis Intercontinental Ventures a real estate development company. "'Appointments"'
