Silwood Park

Silwood Park

Silwood Park is one of the academic campuses of Imperial College London. It is situated near the village of Sunninghill, near Ascot in Berkshire, England.

There are a number of the divisions of Faculty of Natural Sciences that have a presence on the campus. Additionally, Silwood Park is home to the NERC Centre for Population Biology (CPB), [http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/cpb] the International Pesticide Application Research Centre (IPARC), [http://www.iparc.org.uk] the Imperial College Reactor Centre and a science park.

Originally a stately home then a convalescent home for airmen during World War II, subsequently it was purchased by Imperial College for entomological research. Initially pioneering developments in insect pest management [http://www.dropdata.org/iparc/IPARC_hist.pdf] took place, but more recently the emphasis has been on ecology and evolutionary biology.
