- 2009 Premier League Darts
The 2009 Whyte & Mackay Premier League is a
darts tournament organised by theProfessional Darts Corporation .The tournament will kick-off at the
Liverpool Echo Arena which hosted the biggest ever crowd for a PDC event of almost 8,000 in 2008.New venues in Edinburgh and Exeter will join some of the UK's biggest arenas, including Belfast's Odyssey, the
Manchester Evening News Arena , Birmingham'sNational Indoor Arena , theSheffield Arena and Newcastle'sMetro Radio Arena .The tournament will come to a conclusion with the play-offs on Monday 25 May at the
Wembley Arena - coinciding with theFootball League play-offs at the neighbouringWembley Stadium over the same weekend.The
Westpoint Arena inExeter and theRoyal Highland Showground inEdinburgh will host Premier League Darts for the first time, with three venues to stage the event inScotland next year alongside theScottish Exhibition and Conference Centre inGlasgow and theAberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre .Qualification
The eight competitors for the 2009 Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts will be confirmed in January, with the top six players from the PDC Order of Merit following the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship joined by two Wildcard selections.
