Q Radio is a digital radio station, broadcasting on DAB in London, digital television across the UK and online. The station launched in June 2008 as an alternative to the UK's rock and alternative stations, with a strong relationship with Q magazine. History

After running for several years as an online digital jukebox, former controller of 6Music and Capital Radio, Ric Blaxill was recruited to form a full station. Q Radio launched on DAB in London in June 2008 with a full schedule. Live shows include QPM with Samanthi (formerly of XFM) and comedian and 2008 If.comeddies nominee Russell Kane. Co-founder of Acid Jazz records Eddie Piller also presents a weekly show. The station launched with a Coldplay interview where Chris Martin revealed the band planned to release sessions with Kylie Minogue [BBC - Kylie song 'too hot' for Coldplay http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7433519.stm] . The first song played on the station was Rocks by Primal Scream Other guests for interviews and sessions have included The Futureheads, The Young Knives and We Are Scientists.
