Kinray

Kinray Inc. is the largest privately-held full line full service pharmaceutical wholesaler of branded, generics, health & beauty and home health care products in the U.S. with revenues in excess of $4.5 Billion.

Kinray began as a pharmacy in 1944 by Joseph Rahr and in 1975 his son Stewart, expanded the business and became the sole owner & CEO.

Based in Whitestone, NY in a 400,000 square foot facility, Kinray is one of the largest distribution centers in the Northeast. This facility allows Kinray to effectively accommodate its ever-expanding services and markets. In 1997, Kinray was the first independent wholesaler to install a fully automated warehouse & on-line order entry system. This system contains 6,000 channels that handle 85% of Kinrays volume, and packs shipments at a rate of 2,000 orders per hour, with 100% accuracy. As a result, Kinray is able to produce a faster turnaround time and earlier deliveries to its loyal customers.

Kinray offers customers technology driven business solutions with their state-of-the-art automated warehouse, a web ordering system (WEBLINK) and their Controlled Substance Ordering System (CSOS).

Kinray was Ranked #67 in Forbes Magazines top 500 largest private companies and #7 in Crains Magazines annual top 500 privately-held companies in the New York tri-state area for 2007.
