Background
Mo’s Irish Pub is a Wisconsin-based small chain of Irish-themed pub style restaurants owned and operated by Milwaukee restaurateur John Vasallo, otherwise known as Johnny V. There are currently three locations for Mo’s, one in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, another in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the most recent opening in May 2008 in Noblesville, Indiana.
History
The first Mo’s Irish Pub was opened in August 2003 as a continuation in a series of other Mo’s restaurants, most notably Mo’s...A Place for Steaks and Moceans, an upscale seafood restaurant. Moceans has since closed its doors in order for the expansion of Mo’s Irish Pub and Mo’s...A Place for Steaks.
Atmosphere
In the tradition of many popular sports pubs, Mo’s contains several flat screen televisions with a variety of sporting events on at all times. The décor is casual with a multitude of large Irish-themed prints and photos lining the walls. There is also a strong attempt to maintain a modern feel within the restaurants with an emphasis on sponsoring events pertaining to the early twenties generation.
Food and drink
Mo’s menu is a combination of authentic Irish and contemporary American cuisine. On the Irish side, they offer a traditional Reuben made with their very own slow-cooked corned beef. Other menu items include Irish stew, fish and chips and the popular Boxty. Their drink menu is highlighted by the “perfect pint” or Guinness, a highly popular Irish beer.
