John Garvey (born March 26, 1969) is a retired U.S. soccer forwardwho played one season with the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer. He also played in the several other indoor and outdoor leagues and earned one cap, scoring one goal, with the U.S. National Futsal team in 1992.

Youth

Garvey attended the University of Maryland, College Park where he played on the men’s soccer team from 1987 to 1990.

Professional

In 1991, Garvey had a trial with Coventry City F.C. but was not offered a contract. He returned to the United States and signed with the Miami Freedom of the American Professional Soccer League. After eight games, he was traded to the Albany Capitals where he went to the APSL championship game. In the summer of 1995, he played outdoors with the Myrtle Beach Boyz of the USISL. On January 17, 1996, the Terror traded Garvey to the Baltimore Spirit in exchange for Zak Ibsen.
