Scottish Gaelic : Innis Choinnich) is an uninhabitedisland off the west coast of the Isle of Mull,Scotland . Its lies to the south east ofUlva . The island is named after St Kenneth, who founded amonastery on the island, the remains of which still stand. There is also a large mansion there. It was visited bySamuel Johnson andJames Boswell during their tour of theHebrides , when it belonged to a laird of the Maclean clan.The island was once owned by Sir Harold Boulton, the writer of the words to the "
Skye Boat Song ". Its most famous owners were the eccentricMitford family . Nazi sympathiserUnity Mitford spent her final years living on the island.
