Shutlanger is a small village in South Northamptonshire, England about 5 miles east of Towcester and stradling the road from Towcester Racecourse towards Stoke Bruerne, 2 miles south of Blisworth and 7 miles (11 km) south of Northampton. In 1881 Shutlanger's total population was 403. In 1901 it was 339 and by 1971 it had dropped to 233 [cite web|title = A Vision of Britain - extensive local statistical data|url = http://www.visionofbritain.org.uk/unit_page.jsp?u_id=10280692|accessdate = 2008-08-18] .

There was a great medieval house here called the Monastery, but it was just a house and not a monastery in the normal sense [cite book

Shutlanger has its own Parish Council and belongs to the church grouping with Stoke Bruerne and Grafton Regis [cite web|title = Parish Newsletters|url = http://www.grassnews.co.uk/2006/index.php|accessdate = 2008-08-18] .

The village has its own pub, The Plough, and a village hall but otherwise relies on nearby Stoke Bruerne for primary school and church.
