Hayle Kimbro Pool (gbmapping|SW695169) is a
wetland onThe Lizard ,Cornwall , just to the north-east ofPredannack airfield , c. 5 km north of Lizard Point.It consists of three shallow ponds with a combined winter surface area of 23,000 square metres.
The pools are part of the West Lizard
Site of Special Scientific Interest . The aquatic plant communities at the site are typified byCommon Spike-rush ,Common Cottongrass ,Water Mint andMarsh Pennywort .The ponds hosted Britain's first
Scarlet Dragonfly in 1995, and this was also the first site at which breeding evidence for theLesser Emperor was detected, in 1999 [ Jones, Steven P.
