Ann Medina is a Canadian television journalist and documentary producer.
Born and raised in
New York City , Medina studied atWellesley College , Harvard, theUniversity of Edinburgh and theUniversity of Chicago . She began her television career inChicago , becoming a network producer forNBC News , and a correspondent and producer forABC News .Medina moved to Canada in 1975 after marrying a Canadian. She worked for
CBC Television for many years, becoming senior foreign correspondent for "The Journal" in 1981 and extensively covering theMiddle East . Her documentaries also aired regularly onBBC ’s "Newsnight " in theUnited Kingdom andPBS ’s "MacNeil-Lehrer Report " in the United States.In 1988, Medina left the CBC to become a freelance journalist and a resident at the
Canadian Film Centre . She hosted theleaders debate s in the 1993, 1997 and 2000 federal elections and the 1995 and 1999 provincial elections inOntario . She has also hosted programming forCBC Newsworld andHistory Television , and played a television reporter in the films "Zero Patience " and "".Medina has also served on the boards of
TVOntario andHumber College .
