Welsh-born photographer Terry Morris is better known for his portraiture of celebrities. Having worked with the likes of Dame Shirley Bassey and Sir Tom Jones in his first published collection - Cool Cymru - in 2006, Terry now collaborates with stars the world over.His portraiture has been widely celebrated, not least by his best-selling hard-back book Cool Cymru Collection [Cool Cymru Collection, published by Graffeg, author Andy Pearson] , launched aside the photographic collection in November 2006.The book documents his journey as he struggled to finance his dream project and make it a reality.Re-mortgaging his home was only one of the sacrifices made to bring the collection to fruition, and this struggle to the top also became the subject of a three-part television documentary filmed by Llanelli-based production company Tinopolis.The collection became Wales's first photographic hall of fame, and was exhibited at the prestigious Wales Millennium Centre, becoming the first ever photographic collection to hang on its hallowed walls.Opened at the launch by one of the collection's featured stars, Charlotte Church, all 12 prints in the original collection were auctioned, raising over £20,000 for Terry's chosen beneficiary The Noah's Ark Appeal - the fundraising arm of the Children's Hospital of Wales.Those pictured in the collection were:Dame Shirley BasseySir Tom JonesKatherine JenkinsRhis IfansCharlotte ChurchGavin HensonKelly JonesJoe CalzagheBryn TerfelIoan GruffyddRyan GiggsStuart CableLatest additions to the collection include Welsh rugby hero Shane Williams, the world's richest living painter Andrew Vicari, Wales First Minister Rhodri Morgan and Welsh actor Matthew Rhys. Sir Anthony Hopkins and Catherine Zeta Jones are yet to be confirmed as Terry's next subjects.Born in Llanelli, south Wales on September 6, 1965, Terry Morris tried his hand at many jobs before carving his successful photographic career. Amongst those he served in the British Armed Forces as part of the Parachute Regiment.
