Hebrew for "I Am Who I Am") is the title ofDarkwave bandSopor Aeternus & The Ensemble of Shadows ' first EP. It was released in 1995. "Ehjeh Ascher Ehjeh" was released as a companion to the previous album "Todeswunsch - Sous le soleil de Saturne ", containing a few tracks from "Todeswunsch" in altered forms alongside the new two-part song "Anima". A limited pressing of 3,000 CDs was initially available.In 2005, "Ehjeh Ascher Ehjeh" was re-released alongside "
Voyager - The Jugglers of Jusa " and "Es reiten die Toten so schnell... " for the first time as part of the rarities box set "Like a Corpse standing in Desperation ", due to very costly "collector's prices" for cheap copies of the recordings, which were being sold oneBay . In the liner notes of the box set, Anna-Varney explains that most of "Ehjeh Ascher Ehjeh" was created by removing backing tracks from the songs from "Todeswunsch".The cover painting is a detail of "Saint Jerome" by
