2008 Boxing World Cup

The 2008 AIBA Boxing World Cup, is a multi national amatuer boxing competition beetwen top ranked boxers in different weight categories. It will be held in Moscow, Russia from 5-15 of December. [http://www.ciherald.co.ck/articles/h395j.htm]

New format

The format for the 2008 competition changed when it was announced that the event will take places under a new format and become a biennial event.

If before that the competition was between teams, now it will be between the top ranked boxers in their weight categories. The winning country will be the one who took more medals then any other one, without any group stages like previously.
