The World Magnetic Tour is a concert tour by Metallica that will take place in 2008 and 2009, in support of their ninth studio album "Death Magnetic".
Metallica announced the first batch of dates on Monday August 11, 2008. Three extra dates were added on the 27th August in Los Angeles, Chicago and Newark. There are more dates to be announced.

The support bands are changing throughout the tour. All October and November shows will feature The Sword and Down. All December shows will feature Lamb of God, (except for the two shows at The Forum, December 17 and December 18, where Machine Head will support due to Lamb of God being banned from the venue.) and The Sword. All January shows will feature Machine Head and The Sword.

North American Leg I

At Reading and Leeds Festivals 2008, Metallica confirmed that they would be returning to the UK in February 2009, as part of an indoor European leg.
