The 2009 European Figure Skating Championships will be the European Figure Skating Championships of the 2008/2009 season. Skaters will compete in the categories of men's singles, ladies singles, pairs, and ice dancing. Skaters must have reached the age of 15 by July 1, 2008 in order to compete. The competition is open to skaters from a European Member nation of the International Skating Union. The corresponding competition for non-European skaters will be the 2009 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships.
The 2009 competition will be held from January 20 through January 25, 2009, at Hartwall Areena in Helsinki, Finland.
Qualification
Each country is allowed one entry per event by default. Countries may earn more spots based on their performance at the previous year's championships. The following countries have earned more than one entry per event for the 2009 European Championships.
