The Base is a 1999 action/thriller film written by Jeff Albert and Hesh Rephun, produced by Dana Dubosky and Mark L. Lester, directed by Mark L. Lester and stars Mark Dacascos, Tim Abell and Paula Trickey.

Plot
When an army operations officer is gunned down on the Camp Tillman Army Base, the Pentagon sends their top Army Intelligence officer - Major John Murphy - undercover to investigate. Assigned to the border patrol, Murphy discovers that senior Sgt. Mike Gammon and his men are attempting to take over the drug business along the Mexican border. As Murphy delves deeper into the case, he begins to cross the line between his investigation and becoming part of the corruption - ultimately pitting himself against an entire army.

Tim Abell (Sergeant Gammon) was a United States Army Ranger before he started acting.
During the tank chase seen the resulting explosion from the tank cannon "firing" actually destroyed the barracks.
The entire movie, with the exception of the scenes in Los Angeles, was shot at former Victorville Air Force Base.
