James Alexander Sinclair (born October 22, 1987 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England) is a young English striker who plays football for Bolton Wanderers.
He played for Northumberland Boys and the Sunderland A.F.C. and Newcastle united youth academy prior to joining up with Bolton in the summer of 2004. James holds a national School boy record having score 9 goals in a county match against South Yorkshire. He was also the 3rd fastest schoolboy sprinter for the UK and was earmarked as a potential Olympic athlete. Sinclair still holds the under 15 UK alltime 50m record, with a time of 6.2 seconds.
In the 2006-2007 season he converted from the role of attacker to right wing back with success as Bolton's reserve team looked set for their best ever reserve league finish. He made his first-team debut for Bolton in the 2-2 draw away to Chelsea, coming on in the 77th minute, replacing Idan Tal. Drawing great praise from both Gary Speed and Sammy Lee for the way he conducts himself both on and off the pitch.
He also featured a lot in the 2007 Peace Cup, under Sammy Lee, used at both right back and in midfield.
Sinclair made his first Bolton appearance of the 2007-08 season away at Red Star Belgrade in December 2007 as the Wanderers secured a famous European victory against one of Europe's most prestigious clubs.
In May 2008 he was offered a new deal to stay at the Reebok Stadium.
