The Sheik Karimal Makdum Mosque was the first mosque established in the Philippines by the Muslim missionary Makhdum Karim in 1380.

The old structure is actually inside the new building. The burial ground of Sheik Al Makdum, the missionary who brought Islam to this part of Asia lies just beside this mosque.
