Chinese Chileans are Chilean citizens born in China or of Chinese ancestry. The first presence of Chinese came to Chile in the late 19th century as railroad construction crews and mountain miners in the Andes. Most of the Chinese have returned to their homeland, but a few hundred Chinese end up staying and reestablished themselves.
