Play It Again Sam ( [PIAS] ) was created in March 1983 by Michel Lambot and Kenny Gates.The Company started as a distribution company based in Brussels and offering a full range of promotional & marketing services to labels. In 1984 [PIAS] started to sign artists directly and created their own label: PIAS recordings.

[PIAS] now is a strong international record company with a network of partners all over the world and with offices in the main European countries. It started up a distribution company in the UK in 1988; in the Netherlands in 1989, in France in 1994, in Germany in 1998 and in Spain in 2001 and PIAS Recordings (including Different Recordings, F Communications & Wall of Sound) is distributed in 16 countries.

The Group now also has a DVD division (PIAS Visual, PIAS Comedy) and extended their distribution network by creating a digital distribution company: PIAS Digital.

In January 2008, the group changed its name from Play It Again Sam to [PIAS] Entertainment group.
