Benn Harradine

Benn Harradine

Benn Harradine (born 14 October 1982 in Newcastle, New South Wales) is an Australian discus thrower who was selected to compete at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

Harradine made the final of the discus at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne where he finished eighth. Since then he has broken the Australian record twice, his current personal best being 66.37 metres thrown in May 2008 in California.

He is a proud indigenous athlete from the Wotjobaluk mob in the Wimmera district of Victoria. He cites land rights activist Vincent Lingiari as one of the people he admires.
