The BBC Weekend News is simulcast both on BBC One and the BBC News channel every Saturday and Sunday. There are three shorter bulletins which replace the BBC News at One, the BBC News at Six and the BBC News at Ten, which are the BBC One bulletins during the week.

chedule and Structure

The first BBC Weekend News Bulletin is shown at midday. This bulletin is shorter in length than other bulletins, lasting from 5-10 minutes, featuring only a round up of the headlines, with just a few full reports and no sports news. On Sundays the bulletin is usually part of the Politics Show, and does not include the weather, which has been already shown as part of the Countryfile programme. The bulletin will be presented by the presenter on duty on the news channel at the time. Neither bulletin is followed by regional news. The early evening bulletin is usually shown between 5pm and 7.30pm, tending to be earlier on Saturdays, with the later bulletin following between 9.30pm and 11.00pm, though it is always at a fixed time (10pm) on Saturdays. These bulletins are longer in length, between around 20 minutes and half an hour, both being followed by weather and having a separate sports news presenter. The earlier buletins are followed by regional news. All bulletins come from the news channel studio, N6. Aside from the Saturday early evening bulletin, which is occasionally presented by the presenter on duty on the news channel, the bulletins are always presented by a separate presenter, who is not on duty on the news channel.
