tv_com_id ="BBC World News" , formerly known as "The World Today" is a current affairs news programme produced by
BBC World News and broadcast daily in a simulcast withBBC One and BBC News 24 in theUnited Kingdom . It aired in various formats since 1994 and was the flagship programme of BBC World News until the launch of "World News Today", which follows a similar format, but broadcast later in the day.The programme was originally broadcast several times a day, but disappeared from screens in
1999 , when theBBC World Service adapted the programme name for their new flagship morning programme at the time of theBBC News relaunch. It returned in 2001, and was broadcast once a day as a European breakfast programme, with news, sport and a half hour edition of "World Business Report ".As part of the general relaunch of BBC News on April 21 2008, "The World Today" was rebranded as "BBC World News", appearing the same as a standard bulletin to viewers of
BBC World News but subtly different for viewers in the UK.Presenters
