"The Approaching Curve" was the fifth and final single from the album "The Sufferer & the Witness" by the hardcore punk band Rise Against.

The song never reached any of the major charts, but today receives substantial radio play. The influential L.A. radio station KROQ began playing the song in mid-2008 while Rise Against was recording "Appeal to Reason", their most recent studio album.

This song differs from many Rise Against songs because some of the verses are spoken as opposed to being sung, though both exist throughout the song.
