"M83" is the debut album by M83. It was recorded in 2000 and released in Europe and other areas in 2001 by Gooom. The album was reissued in North America by Mute Records in September 2005 and is thus sometimes referred to as "0905".

The track list forms a short story when read aloud in the original 13 track order. Originally, "Slowly" was released as a single with the track "Sitting".

*The track "I'm Happy She Said" is actually 17:52. At about 15:10, a secret track plays for the next two minutes.

*The track titles, when placed next to each other, form the phrase: "Last saturday night at the party, Kelly, sitting facing that violet tree, staring at me, I'm getting closer. She stands up, caresses my face. "I'm Happy" she said."
