United States House of Representatives election in Vermont, 2008

The 2008 United States House of Representatives election in Vermont will be held on November 4, 2008 to determine who will represent the state of Vermont in the United States House of Representatives. Vermont has one seat in the House, their At-Large district, as apportioned according to the 2000 United States Census. Representatives are elected for two-year terms; whoever is elected will serve in the 111th Congress from January 4, 2009 until January 3, 2011. The election coincides with the 2008 U.S. presidential election.

The primary is on September 9, 2008. CQ Politics forecasts the race as 'Safe Democrat'.

=Democratic=

*Peter Welch - Incumbent Representative, 2007-Present; Vermont St. Senator, 1981-1989 & 2001-2007
*Craig Hill - Marketing consultant who ran for the US Senate in the Democratic primaries in 2004 & 2006 as a 9/11 awareness-spreading candidate, and then in the general elections as a Green Party candidate in 2004 & 2006. In the 2008 race his focus is on defense contractor/Pentagon control of the Democratic Congress.
